Newcastle United are closing in on a move for Amiens full-back Emil Krafth, who has arrived in England to complete the transfer, according to the Sun.

The Magpies have been keen to take the Sweden international to the north east as Steve Bruce has been desperate to add a new right-back to his squad ahead of the new season.

Amiens only signed Krafth in a permanent deal earlier in the summer and paid a fee of around €2.5m for the defender.

The French club have been playing hardball in negotiations and have continued to demand more money every time Newcastle made an approach.

But the move is likely to go through as Krafth has arrived in England to complete the formalities of the transfer.

It has been claimed that the Swede pushed Amiens to work out an agreement with Newcastle as he wanted to play in the Premier League.

With the player pushing for the transfer, it seems Amiens have caved in and have agreed a deal to sell Krafth to the Magpies.
