Lyon have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Angers for Jeff Reine-Adelaide, but any deal still depends on Arsenal not activating their clause of first refusal on the winger.

Reine-Adelaide was snapped up by Angers from Arsenal, with the Gunners slapping a sell-on clause into the deal which means they will be due to ten per cent of the fee Lyon pay for the attacker.

It has emerged Arsenal now also hold a clause of first refusal on Reine-Adelaide and Lyon are waiting for the Gunners to confirm they will not use it before they can complete the transfer.

Lyon said in a statement that they have reached an agreement in principle to sign Reine-Adelaide from Angers.

The winger will arrive at the club this afternoon to undergo a medical ahead of the move.

Lyon also stated that "the finalisation of the transfer remains conditional on the result of his medical visit and the agreement of Arsenal, who have a preference clause, called a "match-up" on the player."

With the Premier League transfer window now firmly closed, in contrast to other leagues across Europe, Arsenal are unlikely to match Lyon's bid for Reine-Adelaide.

The fee for the winger has not been disclosed, but it has been claimed that Lyon will pay an initial €25m, plus bonus payments to take the total to almost €30m, for the player.
