Fortuna Dusseldorf are making moves to try to keep Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffen on loan for another season.

The Bundesliga side snapped Steffen up on a loan deal in the summer and were unable to include a purchase option in the agreement.

The shot-stopper has already thoroughly impressed Fortuna Dusseldorf and they are desperare to keep hold of him, even if only on another loan deal.

According to German daily Bild, sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has already held talks with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Steffen's agent.

It remains to be seen if Manchester City are ready to sign off on another loan year for Steffen in Germany so soon after the start of his first loan stint.

Steffen has made five Bundesliga appearances for Fortuna Dusseldorf so far this season, conceding nine goals.

Fortuna Dusseldorf are next in league action at home against Freiburg this weekend, before they then head to the capital to play Hertha Berlin.
