Fulham have demanded a hefty fee from Liverpool for Harvey Elliott’s departure from Craven Cottage during the summer transfer window, according to The Times.

The 16-year-old midfielder was out of contract at Fulham and Liverpool managed to beat off competition from several clubs from England and abroad to sign the youngster.

Elliott even made his debut for Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, but the two clubs are yet to sort out the compensation fee Fulham are due.

The matter has gone to a tribunal and it will be resolved by the Professional Football Compensation Committee in the coming days and weeks.

And it has now emerged the Championship club are seeking a compensation fee of £7m from Liverpool for losing the talented young midfielder.

Fulham believe Elliott’s talent and experience of playing in senior football should mean more money in terms of compensation.

Clubs are due a compensation fee for players under the age of 23, even if they leave following the end of their contracts.

The fee is higher when the player moves within the same country and Fulham are hopeful that they will be able to bank big money for the youngster.
