Christian Eriksen could well wait until the summer before leaving Tottenham Hotspur, with a January move snubbed.

Eriksen was on Manchester United’s radar in the summer and they even held talks with his representatives before backing off as the player was waiting for a call from Real Madrid.

The Dane is out of contract at the end of the season and Tottenham are prepared to sell him in January if he does not sign a new contract by then.

Manchester United are still keen on him and could again open talks to sign him in the winter window, but Eriksen may not be ready to move on.

According to The Athletic, Eriksen could well opt to wait until the summer, when he will be a free agent, before finding the exit door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He wanted to move to Real Madrid in the summer and could be an attractive proposition for the Spanish giants as a free agent.

Tottenham will be desperate to sell him in January and might have a willing buyer in Manchester United.

However, the power lies with Eriksen and he could opt to see out the remaining months of his contract.
