Bristol City are closely monitoring Eddie Nketiah’s situation at Leeds United and will make a move for him in January if Arsenal decide to cut short his loan at Elland Road.

Nketiah provided a compelling case to get a league start on Tuesday night after he scored a late goal against Preston to earn a point for Leeds at Deepdale in a 1-1 draw.

The striker is yet to start a league game as Marcelo Bielsa has continued to favour Patrick Bamford over the Arsenal loanee this season.

There are fears that if the status quo remains, Arsenal and Nketiah might decide to end his stint at Leeds in January and return to the Emirates.

And according to The Athletic, Bristol City are keeping close tabs on the situation with a view to possibly signing Nketiah on loan in the winter window.

The Championship club lost out to Leeds in the race to sign the 20-year-old striker in last summer when the Whites made a compelling case to take the hitman to Elland Road.

But Nketiah is said to be unhappy about playing second fiddle to Bamford despite scoring crucial goals for Leeds this season.

Bristol City are aware that Leeds could lose the striker in January and are keen on signing him on a fresh loan if possible.
