SC Heerenveen winger Mitchell van Bergen has backed former Vitesse team-mate Mason Mount to eventually play for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Van Bergen played with Mount at Vitesse when the Chelsea midfielder was on loan in the Netherlands and he rates his former team-mate massively.

The winger stressed that the 20-year-old is not just a regular player and believes that the vision the Chelsea midfielder possesses really sets him apart from others.

The Dutchman admits that he really enjoyed playing alongside the current Chelsea star at Vitesse in the same team.

Van Bergen told Dutch broadcaster NOS about Mount: “He is not normal.

“I enjoyed [playing with] him so much. You just knew that he was one of the better players, if not the best.

“Mason see a lot very early. If he doesn’t have the ball, he knows exactly where to go, take possession of the ball and make the right choices.

“His vision is at a different level.”

The winger believes Mount is destined to reach the absolute top of world football and will soon be considered the best midfielder in the Premier League.

He feels his former Vitesse team-mate will outgrow Chelsea and eventually play for one of Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future.

“Mason is going to reach the absolute top.

“In the Premier League, he will be a complete player and I eventually see him at Barcelona or Real Madrid.

“He will fit in there.”

The attacking midfielder has four Premier League goals to his name and has been one of the first names on the Chelsea team-sheet this season.
