Tahith Chong’s agent has sent a warning shot to Manchester United with regards to a new contract and claimed that several big European clubs are keeping tabs on his client.

Manchester United snapped up the winger from Feyenoord’s academy in 2016 and he has been part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team squad since last season.  

 



He has eight senior appearances under his belt and is regarded highly at Manchester United, but his contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Manchester United have signed up youngsters such as Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood on new deals and are expected to offer one to Chong as well.
 


Erkan Alkan, his agent, is waiting for Manchester United to come up with an offer, but stressed that several clubs are interested in the young winger.



“It is true that top clubs are keeping an eye on the situation surrounding Tahith”, the Dutchman’s agent told Dutch magazine Voetbal International.

“We are waiting quietly for what United will come up with or else we will see what is best for the development of Tahith next summer.”

Chong is yet to score a goal or register an assist for the senior side at Manchester United thus far, but has been linked with a potential move to Juventus.

He won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year at Old Trafford in 2018.
