West Ham United’s director of football Mario Husillos has already compiled a shortlist of players who could replace Manchester United target Declan Rice in the squad next summer.

A product of the West Ham academy, the 20-year-old is considered a massive talent in British football and already has 72 Premier League appearances under his belt.

He has long been rumoured as a big target for Manchester United, but West Ham are yet to be approached by any club for the midfielder.

However, the Red Devils are expected to make a move for him next summer and it has been claimed West Ham are already preparing for his eventual departure.

According to The Athletic, Husillos has been working behind the scenes to identify a replacement for Rice and has put in a big shift to prepare for the eventuality of losing the player.

The West Ham director of football has already drawn up a shortlist of players who could go on to replace the 20-year-old in the squad next summer.

West Ham are expecting to receive a massive fee if and when they decide to sell the midfielder in the future.
