Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw is set to miss the rest of the season as he prepares to undergo surgery in the United States on Thursday.

The midfielder has been out of action since September due to a hip injury and there was no clarity on when he would be able to return to the pitch.

Marcelo Bielsa often conceded that he is not sure when the midfielder will be fit again and now it has been confirmed that he will miss the rest of the campaign.

Leeds have confirmed that the midfielder will be travelling to the United States and will undergo surgery on his hip on Thursday.

Following months of uncertainty over the midfielder’s injury, the decision has been finally taken that he will go under the knife to fix his problem.

Forshaw started the season as a key player for Bielsa and the Leeds head coach has lamented not having him as part of his squad since September.

Leeds also stated that every other alternative was explored to see whether Forshaw could regain fitness to feature this season.
