Former Leeds United star Ben Parker has expressed his delight at seeing the fight and desire from the Whites players during their 1-1 draw at Brentford on Tuesday night.

Leeds conceded a goal from a horrendous mistake from goalkeeper Kiko Casilla in the 25th minute but Liam Cooper equalised in the 38th minute to level the score.

The Whites managed to hold on to the point and maintain their spot in the promotion race following a horrendous run of form that saw them win just two games in ten Championship fixtures.

Parker feels it was a great point for Leeds and believes it was heartening to see the reaction from the players following a bad run of form, including the defeat to Nottingham Forest.

He was particularly delighted to see the fight the players showed after conceding a horrendous goal in the first half and believes it was a great show of desire and determination from the Leeds stars.

Parker said on LUTV: “Yes, [it was] a great point.

“The players deserve a lot of credit because coming into this game, the first time in a long time, it felt apprehensive and not knowing what kind of performance we would get.

“And the reaction, because we all know how disappointing Nottingham Forest was, but I thought, the players to a man were superb from the first whistle.

“The first half, we were getting bodies into the box and we haven’t seen that too much of lately.

“Also the point, on the back of obviously the huge mistake from Kiko, but the way we responded suggest that we have got the heart and the determination to not just let it peter out.

“We have worked so hard to get to this position and it’s great to show that kind of fight and desire.”

Leeds will look to return to winning ways with three points when they host Bristol City on Saturday.
