Former Anderlecht coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck has made a bold prediction about Liverpool target Jeremy Doku, claiming the 18-year-old has the potential to be even better than Eden Hazard.

Doku visited Liverpool's facilities in 2018, but opted to stay in Belgium at Anderlecht; the Reds have continued to track his impressive progress.

The Belgian Under-21 international enjoyed a superb campaign over the course of the season, featuring for Anderlecht on no fewer than 21 occasions in the Jupilier Pro League.

Ex-Anderlecht coach Vanhaezebrouck is a big admirer of the winger and thinks that he has the potential to become an even better player than Real Madrid star Hazard.

However, he makes no bones about the fact that the teenage winger still has much development to do and has urged him to work on his weaker foot.

"His left foot is currently just mostly to lean on. There is still a lot of work to do”, Vanhaezebrouck told Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad.

"Defenders now know that they should not cover his left, that they can let him kick a cross with it.

“If he perfects his left [foot], he is fully capable of reaching the top.

"Then he will even surpass Hazard in terms of potential.

“But that's [something that needs] training, training, training.

"Hazard is eleven years older, give him time.”

Anderlecht have Doku under contract until the summer of 2022 and the player's father, while not ruling out a transfer, has admitted the family are planning for him staying in Belgium for a further two to three years.
