Barcelona are ready to consider a big-money offer for Cesc Fabregas this coming summer, according to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, information which is sure to be eagerly digested at Manchester United.

The English champions worked hard to sign Fabregas from Barcelona last summer, but fell short as neither player nor club were in favour of a move.

That could change this summer as Barcelona prepare to react to the possibility of ending the campaign without a major trophy.

Now Fabregas, who has not been as decisive as hoped, could be allowed to move on if a large offer arrives.

Manchester United may be interested in rekindling their desire to sign the former Arsenal man as they look to rebuild their midfield.

However, with the club having slipped out of the Champions League, it remains to be seen if Fabregas would be open to a switch to Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old has made 31 appearances in La Liga for Barcelona so far this season and has a contract with the club until 2016.
