Anderson has thanked Fiorentina ahead of the club's final Serie A game of the season, with it appearing increasingly unlikely that La Viola will sign him on a permanent basis from Manchester United.

The Brazilian joined Fiorentina on loan in January, but saw his spell interrupted by injury and struggled to impose himself in coach Vincenzo Montella's team, featuring only seven times in Serie A so far.

Anderson said via his Instagram account: "Thanks Fiorentina fans for the strength and all the emotions you have helped me experience in my five months here in wonderful company!"

The midfielder's loan agreement from Manchester United has an option for Fiorentina to purchase him for a set fee.

However, it looks unlikely La Viola will activate that option, something which would see Anderson return to Manchester United following the club's final Serie A game this evening against Torino.

The Brazilian will then hope to impress the Red Devils' new manager, thought certain to be Louis van Gaal.
