PSV Eindhoven manager Phillip Cocu feels that Memphis Depay is still inexperienced and should stay at the club for at least one more season.

Depay has been one of the bright young stars of the World Cup and has already scored two goals for the Netherlands in Brazil.

He has been heavily linked with a move to England with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, admitting that he has heard of their interest, while Italian giants Inter Milan have also entered the race to sign him.

However, Cocu has said that there have been no contact from any club and Depay still has three years left on his contract with PSV.

“There have been no contacts”, the former Dutch international told Voetbal International.

“And he has a contract with PSV [until the summer of 2017], thus let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”

The former Barcelona man feels that Depay is still very young and inexperienced and believes that he should remain at PSV for at least one more season before deciding to move to a bigger club.

"He has only one full season behind him.

"I think you need a certain base to take the next step and that is independent of the qualities that a person has. Therefore, he must stay at PSV for at least a year.

"There is no concrete interest, so I'm assuming that he will report back to the club later this month.”

Depay scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists in 43 appearances for the Dutch outfit last season.
