Everton boss Roberto Martinez has said that his team have immense respect for Saturday’s opponents Manchester United and are aware of the quality that the Red Devils possess.

The Toffees are currently sitting seventh in the league table and will play host to Louis van Gaal’s men at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Martinez, who has been at the helm of the Merseyside outfit since the summer of 2013, has said that his side respect the prowess of the visitors, who showed their quality when they reached the top of the league table recently.

"We respect this Manchester United side”, he said at his pre-match press conference.

“When they hit top spot a few weeks ago it was a statement.”

However, the Spaniard added that his side will look to play as best as they can and attempt to make it a difficult match for the Red Devils.

“But we want to be as good as we can.

“They have got a settled starting eleven. Apart from the first half hour against Arsenal they have been very strong”, he concluded.

Everton are unbeaten in their last five league outings as they have played out three draws and have won twice. They will be keen to extend that record this weekend.
