Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan feels Louis van Gaal needs to provide good results to break free from the pressure surrounding him at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman, who took charge of the Premier League giants in 2014, failed to win silverware in his debut season in England.

Despite currently being in fourth position in the league, Manchester United have struggled in the present campaign too, with Van Gaal’s men failing to win in their last five outings in all competitions.

The Red Devils have already been knocked out of the League Cup and the Champions League, and the club are possibly staring at a second consecutive trophyless season.

And Forlan, who played for Manchester United between 2002 and 2004, feels it will be disastrous for the club if they endure another unsuccessful campaign.
