Louis van Gaal believes Manchester United's fans will have enjoyed the Red Devils thrashing FC Midtjylland 5-1 at Old Trafford this evening to move into the last 16 of the Europa League.

Pione Sisto scored in the 27th minute for the visitors to shock Manchester United and put the Danish side up 3-1 on aggregate after they won the first leg 2-1.

But an own goal from Nikolay Bodurov only five minutes later levelled the match and in the second half Manchester United hit the accelerator.

Marcus Rashford, who was only in the team after Anthony Martial picked up an injury before kick-off, scored in the 63rd and 75th minutes to put the Red Devils in control.

Ander Herrera scored from the penalty spot in the 87th minute, making up for an earlier penalty having been missed by Juan Mata, while Memphis Depay made it five at the death shortly after Midtjylland were reduced to ten men.
