Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is of the opinion that his side’s Premier League fixture with Everton after the ongoing international break will be bigger than the weekend’s Manchester derby.

The Red Devils edged out Manchester City 1-0 on Sunday to consolidate sixth position in the Premier League with 50 points from 30 games, just one adrift of the fourth-placed Citizens.

With Manchester United being knocked out of the Europa League by Liverpool last week, the Old Trafford outfit’s only hope now of qualifying for next season’s Champions League is by finishing in the top four.

And Schneiderlin, who joined Manchester United from Southampton in the summer, underlined the importance of his side bagging the full three points against Everton on 3rd April.

"We must make sure we win the game against Everton”, he told MUTV.

“We have some time to recover and to enjoy this victory with the international break but, against Everton, it will be even bigger than Sunday because if we want to do something [in the league] we need to confirm it with another win.”

Manchester United, who were eliminated from the group stages of the Champions League earlier in the season, thrashed Everton 3-0 in the corresponding fixture at Goodison Park in October.
