Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has insisted that it is only going to get harder for his side to close the gap at the top of the Premier League if they continue to produce disappointing results.

Fred gave Manchester United a lead in the first half against Wolves, but Joao Moutinho striker after the break earned the visitors a point at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw.




Manchester United are now eight points behind league leaders Liverpool and six behind Manchester City in second and are struggling to keep up the with the teams at the top after six league games.

While Jose Mourinho’s men do have time to claw their way back into the title race, Fellaini admits that it is going to get harder if they don’t produce consistent results and performances soon.
 


The midfielder admits that they need to be playing better football going forward and conceded that there is serious disappointment inside the dressing room after the 1-1 draw at home against Wolves.

Fellaini told Premier League Productions: "Everyone is disappointed.

“We know we can do better.

"We have to win today because after that it will be difficult to close the gap. Everyone is disappointed but that is football.

"We have to move the ball quicker when we create the chances we have to score."

Manchester United will next feature in an EFL Cup third round clash against Derby at Old Trafford on Tuesday night before travelling to London to take on West Ham next weekend.
