Chelsea have called off their interest in Alexander Isak and will give Tammy Abraham an opportunity next season, it has been claimed.

Isak, under contract at Borussia Dortmund, has been in fine form on a loan spell in the Netherlands with Willem II.

The 19-year-old has netted 12 goals in just 13 games for the Dutch club since joining and Chelsea have shown interest in taking him to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues recently held a key meeting to explore a deal for Isak but, according to Swedish daily Expressen, have now backed off.

The Swede's success at Willem II has seen his value rise and as a result Chelsea feel he is too expensive.

Instead the Blues have decided to trust in homegrown talent and will give Abraham an opportunity.

Abraham has impressed on loan at Aston Villa and Chelsea are willing to give him a chance in the absence of a deal for Isak.

Despite Chelsea cooling their interest, it is unclear if Isak will head back to Dortmund in the summer.

The teenage striker has also been linked with Ajax, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
