Leeds United and Watford linked Matthew Clarke insists he is unaware of any substance behind the transfer speculation swirling around him.

Clarke has caught the eye with his performances in League One under Kenny Jackett and has been linked with a number of clubs, from Championship level and above.

Leeds, Hull City, Brighton, Watford and Reading have all been linked with Clarke, while Swansea City boss Graham Potter was in the stands to take in Portsmouth's draw against Sunderland on Thursday evening.

Clarke however is unable to provide any answers over whether anything is happening behind the scenes regarding his future.

And the defender insists that he is not aware of anything.

"There’s nothing I’m aware of", Clarke was quoted as saying by The News, when asked about the transfer talk

"There may be something behind the scenes."

Clarke indeed stressed that his full focus had been on Portsmouth's playoff campaign, which ended at Fratton Park against Sunderland.

"But our season was well and truly alive until this game. So I’ve been keeping my head down.

"All I’ve been thinking about this fixture and getting the club promoted.

"All the work for nine or 10 months has been towards this, so that has been the thing I’ve been focused on."

The jury is now out on whether Portsmouth will be able to keep the 22-year-old over the course of the summer, with Clarke having only a year left on his contract at Pompey.
