Hungary coach Marco Rossi has lavished praise on Manchester United tracked youngster Sandro Tonali and believes he is one of the standout youngsters in world football.

The teenage midfielder led Brescia to promotion from Serie B last season and there was intense speculation over his future at the newly-promoted Serie A side this summer.  

 



Brescia managed to keep hold of the player despite interest from almost all the top Italian clubs and some of the major teams outside Italy too.

Manchester United are now believed to have joined the race as well and had scouts run the rule over Tonali during Brescia’s 2-1 defeat at home to Juventus on Tuesday night.
 


Rossi is all praise for Tonali and is certain that the youngster will further enhance his reputation this season with some big performances.



The Hungary coach told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato: “Although with different qualities, he is following in the footsteps of [Andrea] Pirlo at Brescia.

“He did very well Serie B and is now amongst the best youngsters ever. It is no coincidence that [Italy coach Roberto] Mancini has already called him up to the national team.

“He is the leader of Brescia, which is huge, and this season we will see Tonali in a big way.”

He believes Tonali has all the qualities required to be an excellent performer, but feels what makes him stand out from the crowd is the boldness in his decision making that all the best players possess.

“He knows how to combine quality with quantity and his personality is also one of his best qualities.

“He possesses technical and tactical abilities and in addition his boldness shows that there is a player there in his DNA who is well above average.”
