Newcastle United defender Emil Krafth has admitted it is nice having a fellow Swede at the club in the shape of Alexander Isak.

Both Krafth and Isak played in Newcastle’s 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night and have had increasing opportunities to play together in the final stretch of the season.

Krafth has now clocked 12 Premier League outings for Newcastle this term and the defender is playing his part under Eddie Howe.

The Swede joined Newcastle in 2019, while Isak made the move to the north east in 2022 – and Krafth is glad he did.

He admits it is nice to have a fellow Swede at the club who he can speak Swedish with.

“At Bologna, I had Filip Helander. In France, I had Saman Ghoddos. Here I have Isak”, Krafth told Swedish outlet Sportbladet.

“It is very nice to have a person with whom you can speak Swedish.

“Having someone to chat with, in private.”

Krafth will hope that Isak is still at the club next season, with the striker increasingly of interest to other clubs on the back of his fine performances for Newcastle.
