Stoke City boss Steven Schumacher believes that what his team did to Southampton at St Mary’s is something not many teams will do.

The Potters headed to the south coast in the Championship on Saturday and came away with a 1-0 win.

The result, achieved via a Tyrese Campbell goal, ensures that Stoke will be playing Championship football next season and can plan for the future.

Stoke put in a strong display and had eight shots on target during the game to Southampton’s three.

Schumacher feels that what Stoke did to Southampton is something that not many teams would be able to do at St Mary’s.

“I have just looked at the numbers and we have had more shots than Southampton, double as many attacks”, Schumacher said post match to reporters.

“Not many teams will come here and do that.”

Stoke will now prepare to finish off the season by hosting Bristol City in the Championship next weekend and Schumacher will be targeting another win.
