Massimiliano Allegri has vowed to continue with his 3-4-3 system despite seeing his side lose 1-0 against Malaga last night.

Milan’s loss in Spain leaves them second in Group C of the Champions League, with four points from three games, one ahead of Zenit St. Petersburg and three more than Belgian side Anderlecht. Malaga sit top comfortably, with nine points.

All eyes were on just how Allegri would line his Milan team up, especially given the pressure he has been under in recent weeks.

And the former Cagliari boss opted for a 3-4-3, which he believes works better and with which he is ready to persist.

"This was the first time and I think it was reasonable [to play 3-4-3].

"We have a slightly higher defence. I think that the team is better protected with this system."

"Of course, it will be better. But I’m not saying that we will never return to a system with four defenders.

"But for now, we will have to find the balance."

Milan will be looking to gain revenge on Malaga when the Spanish side visit the San Siro for the next Champions League match day in November.

The Rossoneri then travel to Belgium to face Anderlecht, before concluding their group campaign by hosting Zenit.
