The performances of England striker Jermain Defoe have attracted the attention of Juventus according to reports in Italy. Old Lady officials were impressed with Defoe’s performance against Bulgaria and, in search of a quick and lethal finisher, have been monitoring the Spurs man for some time.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are considering launching a January bid for the 27-year-old when the window reopens after Christmas. The Serie A giants have money to spend after selling Diego to Wolfsburg and offloading David Trezeguet to La Liga new boys Hercules and could make Spurs a big-money offer.

Juventus are aware that an approach for Defoe will not be welcomed at White Hart Lane, however they feel the prospect of a move abroad to one of Europe’s biggest clubs could persuade the striker to quit the Premier League.
