Parma coach Pasquale Marino is walking a tightrope according to reports from Italy, with Roberto Donadoni amongst those who would be favoured to replace him. However, the Serie A side believe that Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the former Italy coach.

Marino has failed to guide Parma up the Serie A table in recent weeks, with a succession of draws being broken only by defeats. Italian daily Tuttosport reports that defeat later today at Napoli could be the final straw for president Tommaso Ghirardi as it would represent the club’s ninth game without a win.

Donadoni would be expected to be a frontrunner to step into the breach, although Tuttosport state Liverpool’s interest in the former AC Milan star could yet throw a spanner in the works of that plan. Also in the mix are Walter Novellino and Davide Ballardini who, like Donadoni, are also free agents and would be able to take the Parma job straight away.
