Veteran Stuttgart midfielder Mauro Camoranesi has been told he can leave the Bundesliga club. The 34-year-old only arrived at Stuttgart on the last day of last summer’s transfer window, signing a one-year deal with the 2006/07 champions, but he has struggled to make an impact in Germany.
"We have spoken and decided that if he finds a club and wants to leave then he can do so", said Stuttgart sporting director Fredi Bobic.
Stuttgart have struggled this season in the Bundesliga and sit second from bottom halfway through the campaign. Camoranesi was expected to help the club work to establish themselves in the top half, but for the former Juventus player’s stay looks like being an unhappy one.
