Liverpool have announced that they have accepted an offer from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for Dutch striker Ryan Babel, although the German club’s general manager has warned the deal is not yet done.

The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impression at Anfield since arriving from Ajax for £11.5M in 2007, and Babel has been the subject of much interest in recent months, with a return to his former Dutch club mooted. Now though, if he can agree personal terms, he will be on his way to Hoffenheim.

"It’s still far from cut and dried", said Hoffenheim’s general manager Ernst Tanner. "There are still details to be clarified. We are still not in agreement."

Babel has though already passed a medical with the German club and providing an agreement can be found with regard to the Dutchman’s personal terms, will end an underwhelming spell at Anfield, hoping to have more luck in the Bundesliga.
