Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg are looking closely at the prospect of signing Serbian forward Milan Jovanovic from Liverpool.

The 29-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at Anfield since he arrived in the summer on a free transfer from Belgian side Standard Liege. Jovanovic quickly fell out of favour with Roy Hodgson and under his successor, Kenny Dalglish, the signs are that his situation may well not change.

Turkish side Trabzonspor have been linked with the Serb, but Wolfsburg are in a position to trump any interest and could offer as much as €9M to make sure they get their man.

With money to spend following the sale of Edin Dzeko to Manchester City, the German side need to bolster their attacking options, and Jovanovic, nicknamed "the snake" due to his quick movement, would likely welcome the opportunity to relaunch his career at the Volkswagen Arena.
