Ghana star Anthony Annan is interesting Bundesliga giants Schalke and the player himself is thought very interested in a switch to Germany.

Annan, currently under contract to Norwegian side Rosenburg, had been the subject of a bid from Sevilla and was believed to be on his way to Spain, though that has not happened, with the offer being rejected.

Now Rosenborg have confirmed that a new bid has been received for Annan and it is better than that which was on the table from the Spanish side. Schalke are thought to be the new bidders.

"There are four more days left before the end of the transfer window and much speculation", said Annan’s agent Lars Petter Fosdahl to TV 2 Sport. "I do not want to contribute more."

Nevertheless, Annan is edging closer to a switch to Germany, with Rosenborg assistant director Erik Hoftun reported to have travelled to the country to close the deal.
