Dani Alves has played down reports that he could leave Barcelona and insisted he remains committed to the Catalan club. A number of sources suggested Alves and his team were in discussions with Manchester City, but the Brazilian played down transfer talk and said he aims to stay at the Camp Nou.

"The truth is that the club knows my preference is for the club", said Alves after Barcelona’s 3-0 drubbing of Atletico Madrid at the weekend. "So, I will fight with all my strength to stay here because it is my dream. I will do everything possible to stay as long as I can."

And Alves also stated a belief that finding a club with players to equal those at Barcelona would be very hard, with the Brazilian confirming he thinks the current generation of Catalan stars are difficult to match.

"I know that finding a big club and with players [like this] will be very difficult. This generation is impossible to repeat and I will fight to the death to stay."
