Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim are weighing up a summer swoop for Panathinaikos youngster Sotiris Ninis.

The 20-year-old burst onto the scene a few years ago in Greece, even earning the nickname the "Greek Messi" as he wowed fans with his close ball control and enthusiastic play. Ninis soon grew a legion of fans, with Roma, Barcelona and Manchester United all regularly sending scouts to Athens to watch his progress.

Now, with a contract that expires at the end of 2012, Hoffenheim feel it may be worth taking a risk on the youngster and are considering whether to bid to take him to the Bundesliga in the summer.

Ninis would likely cost the village club at least €10M.
