Atletico Madrid are already making plans for the eventuality of losing highly-rated young goalkeeper David de Gea. The shot-stopper is attracting serious interest from Manchester United, with reports from some quarters suggesting a fee of €20M has already been agreed between the two clubs.

And the Spanish side are certainly pushing ahead with their search for another goalkeeper, adding further weight to rumours De Gea will be departing.

Atletico have their eye on Basel keeper Franco Costanzo. The Spaniards have joined Udinese and Palermo in closely scouting the 30-year-old, who has shown his talent between the sticks for the Swiss giants this season.

Costanzo also has experience of Spanish football, having briefly played for Alaves in the 2005/06 campaign.
