Marouane Chamakh has dismissed reports suggesting he could head back to France this summer, insisting he wishes to remain at Arsenal.

Chamakh has slipped out of the starting eleven picture, often finding himself confined to the bench and looked to for a late attacking option in games the Gunners are chasing. And this led to reports from France suggesting Marseille were readying a move to bring the 27-year-old striker back to Ligue 1.

But Chamkah, who has found the back of the net seven times in the Premier League this season, has denied he is looking for a move away from Arsenal.

"Will I return to France? I do not know and I do not think about it.

"My goal is the same as when I got here, which is to fully respect the four-year contract that I signed."

Chamakh joined Arsenal last summer, making the move from Bordeaux when his contract with the French club came to an end.
