Legendary Brazilian left back Roberto Carlos has declared his intention to become president of Anzhi Makhachkala when he hangs up his boots.

The 38-year-old, who joined the Russian side in February, is enjoying his spell in the Russian Premier League to such an extent he is not planning to call it a day until 2013, at which time he would like to assume the presidency.

The former Real Madrid man, who has urged Anzhi to bid for Brazilian duo Neymar and Ganso, also believes that the club can become a home from home for Brazilian players.

"I will honour my contract until 2013", said Carlos, adding, "then I will assume the office of president of Anzhi."

Carlos is believed to have come an agreement with club owner Suleiman Kerimov and will help to attract more Brazilian stars to the side.

"I want to stay here for a long time to make this club even stronger and it is where many of my countrymen can play."
