Hamburg have rejected Juventus’ bid for Dutch winger Eljero Elia.

The Holland star was viewed as the answer to the Bianconeri’s left flank troubles, but Hamburg are not willing to sell the former FC Twente schemer for the amount Juventus have placed on the table.

That amount is thought to be a touch over €7M – not enough for Hamburg.

It remains to be seen whether Juventus will return with a higher offer, but Hamburg are not under serious pressure to sell Elia.

The Dutchman had been identified by Juventus coach Antonio Conte after the club failed to complete their long summer chase for Lyon wide man Michel Bastos.
