Reports from Italy suggest AC Milan are watching Chelsea striker Didier Drogba’s situation with great interest.

Drogba is by no means certain to be an automatic pick under new Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas and, despite the club and player declaring talks are under way on a new deal, Milan have not given up hope that the Ivorian could land in Italy.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri believe that Drogba would be the perfect partner for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the pair would compliment each other perfectly.

However, the Rossoneri are still concerned about how expensive the operation to take Drogba from Stamford Bridge could be.

Not in a position to make Chelsea a large offer, Milan would hope that the Blues would ask only a reduced fee for the Ivory Coast star, thus allowing the Rossoneri to meet the striker’s wage demands.

Drogba’s attitude towards any deal remains unclear, with the Ivorian only recently stating his wish to sign another contract with Chelsea.
