Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen should look elsewhere if he wants regular first team football the English club have told the player’s agent.

Poulsen has been keen to stay at Anfield and prove himself after struggling for form last season, but Liverpool have informed the Danish star’s agent Jorn Bonnesen that they cannot guarantee his client minutes on the pitch.

And Bonnesen has launched a search for a new club for Poulsen, with the midfielder wanting first team football throughout the 2011/12 campaign.

"I’ve talked with Liverpool now", Bonnesen told Danish website Bold.

"They have said that they are not confident they can meet Christian’s desire for playing time and they understand we are trying to find a new club for Christian."

And Bonnesen is sure that there are a number of sides interested in the former Juventus midfielder, but stressed Poulsen’s move must be plotted carefully as his wife and three children are a factor.

"We’ll talk and explore the options.

"There are clubs interested, but I cannot say more about the possibilities.

"His clear starting point is that he wants a switch. He moved to England a year ago and has a wife and three children. It’s not just a case of hunting around."
