Reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan believe they are moving closer towards putting together a deal to take Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch to Serie A.

The Rossoneri have watched with interest as out-of-favour Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor has been lined up by Spurs and appears on the brink of a switch to White Hart Lane.

This has encouraged Milan, who are certain that Crouch would be attracted to the prospect of a switch to the Italian champions.

Indeed, looking for cover for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a possible partner at points in the coming season, the former Liverpool man is a serious option for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Milan are looking at throwing former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini into any bid for Crouch, certain this could tempt Spurs boss Harry Redknapp to do business all the more.

Crouch impressed the Rossoneri in last season’s Champions League, with the lanky striker scoring the only goal of the game in Spurs’ 1-0 win at the San Siro.
