Valencia are believed to be preparing a bid of €10M for Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol.
The Spaniard previously turned out for Los Che before being sold to Los Blancos in 2009, though he has not had the smoothest of rides at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid paid €15M for the 25-year-old, but Valencia think an offer of €10M could be sufficient to take him back to the Mestalla.
Valencia have received a cash infusion through selling winger Juan Mata to Chelsea for €28M and it is presently the intention of the club to try and reinvest the entire fee in new talent before the summer transfer window closes.
The return of Albiol would be a popular move and also release Dutchman Hedwiges Maduro from his centre back role to marshal the midfield.
During his final season with Valencia, Albiol had been forced to switch to right back on occasion to accomodate Maduro in the centre.
