The summer transfer saga surrounding South Korean striker Park Chu-Young looks to be coming to a close.

Park has interested a number of sides this summer, including Liverpool, and the 26-year-old was holding out for a switch to Anfield at one point, causing him to reject a move to Rennes.

Now however it looks certain that the striker will remain in France, swapping relegated Monaco for champions Lille.

The South Korean was not willing to drop down to Ligue 2 with Monaco and has been searching for the exit door.

And now it has been opened by Lille coach Rudi Garcia.

Speaking to French radio station RMC, Lille President Michel Seydoux confirmed that Park is on the verge of a switch to the champions.

"Yes, Park is close to Lille", said Seydoux.
