Reports from Spain suggest that La Liga outfit Malaga are keeping tabs on Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero.

The Spaniard is suffering for playing time at the Bernabeu and, should his situation not improve, is believed ready to exit Jose Mourinho’s side in January.

A product of Real Madrid’s youth academy, the 24-year-old has already been linked with a move to English Premier League side Arsenal as interest in his services grows.

According to Spanish daily AS, Malaga are the latest side to weigh up a bid for the midfielder.

Granero was brought back to Real Madrid in 2009 after a two-year stint with Getafe.

Real Madrid, who have always been aware of the player’s undoubted potential, wisely inserted a buy-back clause into their agreement with Getafe – and activated this, meaning Granero cost just €4M.

Los Blancos would be looking for a fee well in excess of that amount in January.
