Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had admitted that a move to Barcelona could well be an option in the future.
Outstanding at times so far this season, the shot-stopper has been mooted as being on the Catalan giants’ watch list – and it is something that Szczesny is not unhappy about.
"I can’t declare that I will spend my entire career here, but if I leave I will have a very important reason or I will go to Barcelona", the 21-year-old told the Polskatimes.
"But that does not mean I will leave in the short term", added Szczesny, "because now I am happy at Arsenal."
The confident goalkeeper has been one of the success stories of Arsenal’s mixed start to the new season, with his displays between the sticks leading to a realisation that Arsene Wenger will not necessarily have to dip into the transfer market for a new number 1.
Szczesny however still has developing to do, as evidenced by his conceding of a long-range strike against Tottenham Hotspur in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at the weekend.
Barcelona though cannot but have been impressed with his work so far.
