Hot on the heels of Hamburg’s interest, another Bundesliga side are plotting to take Robert Huth from Stoke City in January.

Huth’s stock in his homeland is high, despite never having played a competitive game in the country’s top flight.

Hamburg, leaking goals at an alarming rate, have identified Huth as a potential acquisition when the winter window opens, but now Wolfsburg are ready to get involved in a transfer tussle.

Wolves boss Felix Magath has watched with dismay as his side have failed to hit the heights expected at the Volkswagen Arena, shipping 15 goals in just eight Bundesliga games.

Magath believes that Huth would be attracted by the prospect of moving to Germany whilst he is approaching his peak.

The 27-year-old will also no doubt be aware that a switch to the Bundesliga ahead of Euro 2012 will help him press his case for a regular starting spot in Joachim Low’s Germany side.
