Bologna are working hard to renew the contract of Uruguayan schemer Gaston Ramirez.

The Rossoblu gem has attracted much interest of late, chiefly from Liverpool, who are believed to be lining up a January swoop for the 20-year-old.

And while Bologna would likely be willing to sell Ramirez for the right price, the Serie A club also want to strengthen their position, as well as rewarding the Uruguayan for his fine performances.

The exciting attacking midfielder currently earns just €270,000 per year with Bologna; the Serie A club are proposing to up that to a generous €800,000.

Also as part of a five-year deal, a buy-out clause of between €13M and €15M will be set – a figure Bologna would be happy to sell Ramirez for if any side ever activate it.

Ramirez was snapped up by Bologna just last summer for €3.5M. There remains an agreement with Uruguayan side Penarol which entitles them to a 30% cut of any future transfer fee.
