Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku believes that his time at Stamford Bridge is consistently improving him as a player.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas swooped to snap up Lukaku from Anderlecht in the summer and there were many in Belgium who thought the move was a bad one for the young striker.

Indeed, it was felt that Lukaku needed regular first team football to improve and develop – something he would not receive at the English club.

The powerful hitman though is happy with how his adventure is progressing.

"I’m especially impressed by the intensity of the Premier League, and Chelsea are very effective", said Lukaku.

"We create so many changes, we have so much of the ball and even when marked.

"In training we play very attacking football and I get a lot of good balls. For me, the circumstances are ideal for quickly gaining experience."

And the striker is convinced that moving to Stamford Bridge was a smart move.

"Some believe in Belgium that moving to Chelsea was too big a step. I still consider it the right choice though.

"Because, if you learn from the best, then you can become one of the best."
