Celtic are one of three clubs considering swooping for Levante’s impressive striker Arouna Kone.

The Ivorian goal-getter is on loan at Levante from Sevilla until the end of the current campaign, but if he continues his fine form with La Liga’s surprise package so far, then it appears unlikely the Valencia-based side will be able to keep him at the Ciutat de Valencia for the long term.

Kone quickly grabbed the headlines this season when he struck the winner in Levante’s 1-0 win over Real Madrid in La Liga’s fourth matchday.

The 27-year-old is attracting interest from a number of clubs and should Celtic launch a raid then they look likely to face opposition from Rennes, 1.FC Koln and Udinese.

Levante are offering Kone the perfect springboard from which to relaunch his career – and he is taking his chance with gusto.

Kone first hit the headlines with PSV Eindhoven, but moved to Sevilla in 2007.

At the Spanish side he struggled to make a substantial impact and was loaned to Bundesliga outfit Hannover in 2010 before landing at Levante this season.

The quick forward has clocked up 35 appearances for the Ivory Coast.
