A three-way transfer tussle for young Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Patrick Herrmann between Arsenal, Juventus and Napoli is threatening to erupt.

Herrmann has been outshone only by the in-demand Marco Reus at Borussia-Park this season and is rapidly attracting scouts to Gladbach’s Bundesliga games for reasons other than to watch his impressive team-mate.

The 20-year-old is a regular for the Foals and got on the scoresheet in Gladbach’s 5-0 demolition of Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga yesterday, opening the scoring before Reus hit a hat-trick and Juan Arango completed the rout.

And while Reus’ value is set to surge sky-high, there is a very real chance that Herrmann may indeed be the best value youngster on show at Borussia-Park.

The 20-year-old’s most ardent fans thus far are English giants Arsenal and Italian duo Juventus and Napoli.

Despite Herrmann being considered a key part of Gladbach’s side and future, he is not tied down to a long term deal and, next summer, will have just two years left to run on his current contract.

Herrmann is able to play on either the right or left side of midfield, with his versatility being a big asset.

The German Under-21 star has clocked up ten appearances in the Bundesliga this season, scoring twice.
